Simple loop switching for your pedals

High-quality true bypass strip loop control for your effects pedals. Compact easy switching solution to keep your tone intact.

TheGigRig QMX has all the same great features as the standard QuarterMaster including;

1. Uses TheGigRig 'True Bypass' relay technology keeping your tone perfectly intact and your switching quiet.
2. Tough aluminium enclosure and small footprint will keep your pedalboard light and compact
3. Uses the new GigRig 'OptoKick' Optical Foot switch which we believe is the most reliable foot switch in the world.

PLUS, the QMX has a very clever ace up its sleeve.

Each loop has a push button next to the loop return that gives you the option to turn a standard loop into a flip/flop loop.
Instantly switch between any selected loops while adding other loops on top. Its great if there are effects on your board that you never stack like multiple delays, or drive units.
By using the QMX returns as instrument inputs you can easily and quietly switch between your favourite guitars

For your simple compact board, TheGigRig QuarterMaster QMX just makes life that little bit easier.

    Quartermaster 8

Posted by Scott Curry on Apr 29th 2023

Love this switcher. It is absolutely the best I’ve ever played. It’s smooth and silent. The only flaw is the Quartermaster Logo gets covered up with my labels for switch 4 and 5! :) But the GigRig logo is fine. If you are looking at this review, get one. You won’t regret it.

    QMX8

Posted by Craig S on Apr 12th 2023

If having a QMX4, 6 and now an 8 says anything (I wish that I can post photos here), these are the greatest inventions since pedals and an absolute must for any pedalboard where non programmable switching is desired. Switching is easier, quieter and my tone has never been better. Oh the compliments I get and the confidence I have knowing that my tone will never fail me. Mega thanx, Dan and all at GigRig

    Doorway to a new world

Posted by Sean Carey on Jan 23rd 2022

I'm not a professional musician and can't really justify the cost of a high end switching system but for my needs the quartermaster is just perfect and opened up a whole new world of options and experimentation. I've always been disappointed with the tonal impact of running long pedal chains so generally stuck to pretty simple signal paths, but with the QMX I've started building bigger and more complicated pedalboards while still being able to preserve the best tone from my gear. Well built, reliable and easy to use -- I couldn't ask for more from any piece of gear, and while it may not have all the bells and whistles it still has a very professional look and feel. It's almost always the first thing people notice and ask about.

THE GIGRIG QUARTERMASTER QMX - 8

Posted by Eric Herbst on Oct 28th 2021

I own a G3 that I use on my large pedalboard but needed something simpler for my small pedalboard. The main issues for me were noise and functionality. I also found that not using any kind of switcher was just asking for problems because when one cord failed on my pedalboard my entire board failed and diagnosing which cord it was, was nearly impossible. So having had an amazing experience with the GigRig G3 THE GIGRIG QUARTERMASTER QMX - 8 was the obvious choice. I can honestly say it has been perfect so far. I also love the feature of being able to set it up where if you choose a certain pedal it turns off another specific pedal or pedals. Without this great feature, I would be tap dancing again. so my recommendation is if you can justify it and need to use Midi buy a G3 but if you don't and just want a silent reliable switcher to get yourself a QUARTERMASTER! Great switcher!

Posted by Eric Wall on Aug 29th 2021

First off, the quality on this switcher is fantastic! Very sturdy build, and quality switches. The switches are not mechanical, but they use light. I don’t understand it, but I can tell you that they are the most satisfying switches you’ll ever use! It also comes with a grounded plug so that you can turn any tuner into a mute tuner. Very handy! I love this thing!

    Opening a can of worms

Posted by Billy on May 27th 2021

Dan and Mick are to blame, and I couldn’t be more grateful or pleased. I’m not gigging or touring or playing anything anyone wants to hear, but with the addition of the Quartermaster to my pedalboard I’ve noticed significantly better sound from my pedals, less background noise, less wear and tear on the pedals themselves, and most importantly I was able to support a company of people who take time to make their product as useful and useable as it can be. DAYS worth of content has been provided by these guys to help educate and entertain guitar players and tone chasers young and old, and if I can help support the company that helps to support artists around the world well sign me up. Thanks to everyone at the Gigrig and That Pedal Show for all that you guys do, and I couldn’t be happier with my new Quartermaster!!

    QMX 8

Posted by Eric Scrutchin on May 8th 2021

I went from a Boss ES8 to the QMx8. I was tired of the programming and was looking to simply my rig. The QMX8 is perfect for my needs. I used it live for the first time last night and was very pleased. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a great alternative to the programmable switchers. Thanks GigRig.

    Great addition to a pedalboard

Posted by Madkrafter on Aug 17th 2020

I am building my first pedalboard and adding a switcher seemed like an extravagant feature. I build a lot of things - guitars, amps, furniture, leather... and now a pedalboard. I believe in doing things right. The QMX-8 is the right way! Great build quality. I had some overdrive pedals that popped pretty bad when switching on. Not any more. I haven't fully tested it yet. My next addition will be The Gig Rig power system. It really is the most versatile power system. Thanks Dan and crew!

    Solid peice of gear!

Posted by Brad on Jun 30th 2020

This is such a great addition to my board and beautifully built. I have some pedals with 2 switches that are very close together and by using the QMX to bring the effects in/out, and then I use a button topper on the secondary function so it's easy to hit without worrying about hitting the on/off switch. The flip flop feature is great too.
