The Humdinger was designed to eliminate earth loops in audio equipment by isolating the second output. Earth loops are a common complaint. As soon as the ground on your gear has more than one main route to earth, you have the potential for an earth loop. The best and safest way to get rid of an earth loop is to isolate the ground that is causing the hum.

If you use 2 amps all you need to do is stick the HumDinger at the end of your effects chain. Your main (buffered) output goes to one amp and the isolated output goes to the other. Your earth is consistent through the main output but isolated through the isolated output.

Using a mains powered effects pedal, simply place the HumDinger in the chain after the mains powered effect. The Mains powered effect is your main ground and the ground from the amp is isolated.

This warranty covers defects in manufacturing discovered while using this product as recommended by The GigRig. This warranty does not cover loss or theft, nor does the coverage extend to damage caused by misuse, abuse, unauthorized modification, improper storage, lightning, or natural disasters. Damage caused by any of the above circumstances may result in a non-warranty repair fee. Legal: In the case of malfunction, the purchaser’s sole recourse shall be repair or replacement, as described in the preceding paragraphs. The GigRig will not be held liable to any party for damages that result from the failure of this product. Damages excluded include, but are not limited to, the following: lost profits, lost savings, damage to other equipment, and incidental or consequential damages arising from the use, or inability to use this product. In no event will The GigRig be liable for more than the amount of the purchase price, not to exceed the current retail price of the product. The GigRig disclaims any other warranties, express or implied. By using the product, the user accepts all terms herein.

I own a few other GigRig products and they are great! Top quality in both build and sound and the humdinger is no different! Keep up the great work!

Sometimes it's difficult for guitarists to review products that don't directly influence "tone"...or items that are considered utility. It's just not cool or, dare I say, sexy??? lol. Well, this utility device does affect tone because it allows me to do what I haven't tried in over a decade and never got back to because of the horrible ground hum using two amps; have great tone and sound using a wet dry set up. It's quite inspiring to have a really good core tone elevated to an ethereal plane. I swear I heard angels singing as the reverb meandered off into the great beyond...great work with your products and I look forward to diving deeper into switching solutions in the future with possibly the G3 or Atom. Thanks.

I got this to finish my wet / dry rig and it works perfectly. It takes up hardly any space on my board (probably could fit underneath or out of the way entirely for a lot of people) and I’m pretty sure my rig is way quieter now.

I've used a Radial Twin City isolated ABY switch for almost a decade for my stereo guitar setup - and it was really solid and very reliable, but as I've attempted to keep my board as compact as possible, it's size has become a problem. ENTER THE HUMDINGER - it feels very solid, and offers the same features except the switching and the tunable buffer - but at less than 1/4 of the size, which is PERFECT for hiding it under my board. Since it's a simple product, and seems to be really well built, I expect it to last for years without any issues.

Absolutely fantastic. Have it running a wet dry between by Fender Deluxe Reverb and Vox Ac30s1. Easy setup and great sounds!
